Mode servo (again!)

yea; I only got the noise I was referring to when i first started my rx yesterday morning. After several stops, etc and turning the vehicle off and on the noise seemed have gone away for now. I dont know how long before it decides to come back though. I would rather not have to replace either servo or both especially because I dont have 100+ bucks to spend on replacements right now. Im on a fixed income at the moment.

That loud buzzing comes and goes on mine also, but the mode button no longer changes anything. Flat rate labor on these replacements is 3 hours, so you're looking at $450 (independent) to $750 (dealer) to get it replaced. The part is $120 to $150, depending on which one has gone bad.

And i'm almost positive that this is the other, i went searching for them last night online after i read someones post with the Toyota part #'s, this one is the more expensive one and i cant seem to locate these on Rockauto but if someone finds another website with them, by all means, post the link for us please.

Just checking but you did check to make sure you was ordering the right one of the two right? i've only seen the lower one, haven't really checked anything above the lower one because it was the one making the noise

Before you remove the old one .. make sure you cycle through and bring the arm of the old to match the position in the new. Then it is an easy swap.

You an gently assist by pushing.
Worst case, detach and push the arm manually

my mode broke last year and i think there were different sounds like clicking and buzzing. fixed it and the sounds went away. unfortunately the temp servo died right after and i couldn't get cold air. haven't gotten around to fixing it yet.

In retrospect, I would take the system off from Auto. The Auto mode overworks the mode servo (imho).
