Default Removing 'L' badge

Hey guys,

Has anyone removed the rear 'L' badge before? Is it screwed on from behind or is it a stick on? If its from behind does anyone know how to get to it (i dont wnat to just start ripping things off my hatch)?

I have gold plated badges and for some reason only the rear 'L' s gold is being worn away and i can see the silver underneath.

I was planning on sanding it down and repainting it with a matching 'gold' color and then applying a clear coat over it.

Any info on taking the badge off would be cool.

thanks guys

Lightbulb Close shave...

Badging is attached with double-sided tape (?!) Several on this forum have had success by pulling a strand of dental floss tight and drawing it under the badge, holding it as close to the body panel as possible. Might wait for a warm, sunny day to soften the adhesive... Good luck!

...or use a hair dryer to warm up the glue before trying to remove it.
