Yep, all three (L, R, center/top) brake lights are out. The 20A "stop" light fuse under the dash looks good. The cruise control knocks off when I tap the brakes, so I assume the brake light switch is good. Any ideas? I understand there is a "light failure mudule" in the back somewhere that can go bad. Anybody know about this?
Oh, and the brake warning light on the dash doesn't come on.

That is why I suggested to confirm. I faintly recall more than one switch operated by the brake pedal.
Switches are NC, NO [normally closed and normally opened].
I do not have the RX circuit in my head ... and am not sure if the ecu gets only one input. and then controls everything or the hight current demand loads work off the switch(es).

Hi Salim:
Found a wiring diagram in the internet (!) but I can only see 1 brake light switch. If I could be sure it was the light failure module, I would tear apart the interior of my RX and buy the part from an online dealer (I don't want to risk paying $100 for a used part on e-bay that might only last a couple of months). I'll go over the fuses and switches again tomorrow before I do this.

Just an update: Ended up taking the car to the dealer as I was leaving town and had to get the state inspection before I returned. Bottom line......... $850!
!@#$%^&*
I looked at the failed module and couldn't see any cracked solder joints/connections so it would appear to be a component failure.
Oh, and they broke the rear 12v power outlet (beige) and had to replace it with a black one ("the beige ones are no longer available"). I'm going to check online to confirm that.
