Lexus 1999 RX 300 Jerking
Hello,
Looking for help with Rx300.
Turns over great and runs fine for 10-15 minutes, once on the expressway after it warms up it starts to want to decelerate and jerks in what I think is downshifting. I have put premium fuel in it and fuel injector cleaner and it seems to help a little bit, but it condos felt jerks when I slow down say from 65 to 65 mp it jerks and rapidly loses speed, then from 55 to 50 same thing. It also struggles idling and starting sometimes it puts. Are there any home methods to try for a novice car guy to try fixing before going to the dealer?

1999 Lexus RX300 Jerking
Hello,
Looking for help with 1999 Rx300. 210K regular oil changes and good maintenance.
Turns over great and runs fine for 10-15 minutes, once on the expressway after it warms up it starts to want to decelerate and jerks in what I think is downshifting. Check engine light goes from illuminated to blinking and back and forth between the two.I have put premium fuel in it and fuel injector cleaner and it seems to help a little bit, but it still jerks when I slow down say from 65 to 60 mph it jerks and rapidly loses speed, then from 55 to 50 same thing, etc. it also seems like when accelerating I have to push down on the gas harder and it has to work harder to get the engine going and it makes a louder humming noise than usual. The car also struggles idling and starting sometimes it putts and rumbles feeling like it's going to stop all together but doesn't.. Are there any home methods to try for a novice car guy to try fixing before going to the dealer?

Please read the sticky 'having problems start here' thread.
Please have the CEL code(s) read. Most (not all) problems are diagnosed by the onboard computer.
From your description, it seems your RX is misfiring on atlas 1 cylinder. Coil pack or spark plug can be bad. There may be more going on, but lets start with basic.
Spark plugs should be replaced every 110k miles with OEM.
