Crankshaft position sensor Help !!!
How to check resistance at the crankshaft position sensor.
Where is a convenient place to access the wires?
If it has failed completely will that result in No spark at all??
Thanks,
Christa

Can anyone show me a picture or diagram looking down on the engine so I can locate the CPS ??
I have been unable to find anything other than a close up picture, which is not helping me.

Down around the main pulley. I did not post earlier as I have limited info. To get to it most likely you will have to remove the main pulley and plastic cover. Its been a while ,,,, you may like to go over the timing belt DIY and see if the connector from CKP (your abbreviation) needs to be separated.
It is a robust piece. Not heard of dying out ... does not mean it can not happen.
No spark as I know is usually due to immobilizer, or ignition kill ... both are from ignition switch or key.

Found it, took out belt and headlamp and checked ohms. Reading came up 2100 ohms
Also checked front bank cam sensor and reading was 1100 ohms
Are these good numbers??
Also... Going to review the schematics I have, but would anyone happen to know what terminal to check also at the CPU ?

Blink should go away when you insert the 'right' key.

I have a total of 4 keys. 2 keys with remotes (lock, unlock, etc) both are broken, but taped together.
I have a valet key and I have the flat key. The 2nd to the right is the key I've been using lately, and when car is locked and armed via the key, the security light goes red, solid red and stays on.
Ideas?

Wires to/from CPS? Sorry no running knowledge.
Keys: I think I have covered it well in sticky ,,, having problems start here. If you need specific answer our resident expert is 'hypervish'. Please same time or wait for him to respond here.
When you insert one of the three plastic shell keys, the blinking light should turn off -> signature has been recognized and ignition kill has been deactivated [you will get spark].

Its not mine. I saved it from the web when I was looking into doing the timing belt on one of these beasts. It looks like a real PITA if you ask me. If you look close, that engine isnt even in the truck. Its on a hoist.

No .. I dont claim anything is by me... all I have learnt (good and bad) is from others. .. but yes I am the thread starter.
Incidentally, I had left the thread open for others to contribute, but then members started to comment and or started to post their problems, so I had to lock it.
If any one wants to add something to even would like to get an answer to some common thing, please let me know.

This thread doesn't actually describe the problem.
It asks how to check the sensor resistance, and if a bad sensor could cause no spark.
Are there any codes?
If you think there is an ignition problem,
