Abs lock out. Gear shift stuck in park
We purchased a 99 300 for our son. Great shape and ran great. Was having a problem with the power antenna we dug into it and in the process a wire sparked. Everything was fine before this happened. Now the ABS light is on and the gear shift will not shift out of park unless you push the override button. I've gone through the fuses and the radio was blown. Replaced and that's fine but can't figure out why it's locked out.

Why, Why do folks work on their vehicles without disconnection the battery terminal?
Steps before you work:
Take the key out of the ignition.
Wait 5 mins.
Disconnect the battery.
Stepping off the soap box.
Use the over-ride ..
Does the display show the gear that you are in? PRND etc

With fuses checked out ok, and the sending unit checked out ok, the next step would be to trace the presence of voltage ... I would work my way back from the relay [circuits are much easier working backwards]. You will need a circuit diagram and lot of patience. If there is a fuseable link in the path it might be blown. Please educate us when you find something.
