P0446 CEL code
I am getting a P0446 code (Not getting a P0441). I assume this most likely means a bad EGR Vacuum Solenoid. I'd like to test it but can't find it
Can anyone tell me where the EGR Vacuum Solenoid is located on a 2000 RX300?
Thanks

P0446 is "Evap vent control fault"

There is a another evap valve by the charcoal canister. How can OP distinguish which evap valve is involved in 0446?

I experienced this several years ago on my 99 AWD RX. I suggest that you closely inspect your charcoal cannister assembly (in the rear, under the floor and beside the spare tire well) for rotten vacuum hoses.

I only see one VSV identified as EVAP VSV. The one on the canister is called the "VSV for Pressure Switching Valve". Here's another view.
While the code indicates it is the EVAP VSV the procedure seems to be to test everything.

Vapor pressure sensor is next to the charcoal canister.

So I took off the casing covering the canister and am posting the following photos. The last photo shows on the right two hoses which are not attached to anything. Should either of them be? Otherwise all the hoses look ok. I will remove the two small hoses connected to the Vacuum Solenoid (top picture) and test it using a 9 volt battering with two jumper cables. My understanding is if it is functioning correctly, I should hear a clicking noise. Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated..

I'm pretty sure the disconnected hoses are normal.
The 'click' means the solenoid works but doesn't prove the valve is good. A vacuum tester (can borrow kit from AdvanceAuto) can test out the hoses and valves.

Thanks Max Steel. I just disconnected the two hoses connected to the solenoid, clipped the jumper cables to it and listened for a click. No clicking at all so I will have to order one. As I have everything opened up now I'll also test for vacuum in the hoses.
Does this OEM number look right? 9091012150, 9091012196

So I found both valves. The first which is located on the fuel bar beneath the engine cover. After removing the hoses and connecting the cables to this valve and a battery, it clicked repeatedly it seemed fine. Tomorrow I will test Vacuum in the hoses. However, as MaxSteel and Salimshah discussed, there is another valve located next to the canister (which is under the spare tire) I think it is called a canister purge switching valve. When performing the same test on this valve, it made no clicking sound. I think this valve is shot.
I am trying to find the part number for the Canister purge switching valve, but only seem to be able to find the part number for the valve connected to the fuel bar under the hood.
If anyone could help with the part number that would be great. Thanks to you all.

I think you are describing the same valve that I replaced several years ago. Had to go to a Toyota dealer; Lexus claimed that it was not available. I'll try to find the p/n.
