Million mile dream? Pipe dream?

Thank you guys for the good wishes. I think the discussion on the new to me purchase and pictures are better suited in the 3rd gen RX forum.
After the wreck, I started looking for a gap filler [purchase a used one and sell it in few years] and then buy a new vehicle. [Buying new vs used is a different discussion but I dont switch cars frequently and in my case the rapid depreciation can be justified as I keep the vehicles long term]. I have followed Thomas' foot steps and ... [mechanical engine is roughly 2/3 of the milage]. With mixed hybrid my selection was with in Lexus family. I was looking seriously at 2nd gen but this vehicle showed up and I had to expand my pocket book and at least now the idea is to keep this vehicle long term. Increased insurance premium will be offset by better MPG [18.9 for '99 to say 28 for 450]
Comparing with my 99RX ... the size is bigger (not cargo space). Trunk is not flat. Spare is not full size. [I personally do not like the slant in the back .. but I do need to move on]
Such an eerie feeling when the engine shuts down.
Feel is very different in coasting, slowing down and braking [re-gen in action]. My 99 costs more freely ..with years of driving, I mostly used gas pedal (very little brakes) to modulate in driving conditions. I know 99 Rx has poor turning radius, but with time the vehicle becomes extension of your body and one drives without thinking.
I seems it is time to say goodbye to the '99RX. It has been one of the best vehicles that I have owned. People have had issues, but I have had no transmission issues, no oil burning and I have never done more than regular maintenance. Logged 1/4 million miles. Even with the tail clipped I can pick up the keys and drive any where I need to without worrying that the car might break down. Engine bay is as clean as it was on day 1.
Sensors, door lock actuator and mode servo have been replaced/repaired.
Rubber boots on half-shafts CV joints got ripped.
Black paint on roof rack and window side is fading, but the roof hood sides have the new paint luster.
The journey with the 99RX has been so much enjoyable due to the friends I have made here. I am not saying goodbye just yet,,,, just preparing for the next journey.

Big change in color, Not real familiar with Texas, However I was born there...Hopefully your temps aren't as bad as Sacramento Ca, in the summer as a dark color could be a change for you. However if the 450 is as good as the RX400h the air conditioning is spectacular. Nice wheels.

Austin is pretty much central Texas. Mild winter, long summer and plenty of Sun and we can have 40 days of 100+ I am anxiously waiting for parking garage at work. Till that time my 450H will mostly stay garaged at home.
Other than heat, keeping the vehicle is a chore. Spring here has plenty of air borne pollens and only light green color gets away with it.

Looking forward to your hybrid feedback on the 3rd gen forum. I have a 2010 rx350 but so far its been just as reliable as our 02 rx300. I just hope in time due to the amount of electronics, that it will continue to be reliable when it gets to similar milage (160k+) In the event our rx300 repairs become too expensive (ie. transmission failure) i do have interest in these rx450h's for a replacement.

Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and good feedback on the 1st Gen forum Salim. The 2nd-3rd RX hybrid forum will be getting a valuable resource and friend. I moved on to the NX forum here with my CPO purchase after my daughter totaled her 2001 RX300. So I now flip between NX and RX forums.

Still having battle of wits with the insurance company. In any case the vehicle will be picked up today.
It hurts!

Well on the bright side, it'll be much cheaper in fuel costs to run your RX450h to 1 million miles!

Kudos for pointing out that it was my 10,000 post which stated that I am parting with my RX
