clunking rattling in glove compartment. Not fan.
There is something loose in my glove compartment. It sounds like a fastener or two came out and the loose pieces of ABS are banging around whenever riding over road imperfections. I have been in there a couple of times looking for loose stuff, to no avail. Makes the same racket with the CD carousel out and the glove box door open and the lug key out.. Ideas?

Empty the compartment completely, and have someone else drive it while you sit in the pass. seat. Listen carefully with it closed and opened. I would also remove the cover that is under the compartment before driving so any noise can escape more easily.

If you did not find anything in the glove compartment, it could be some piece in the mounting of the air bag mechanism as it is just behind the glove compartment. I was chasing similar noise, thinking it is in the glove box, so I have removed the entire glove box and drove my wife's car without it. The noise was still coming from that area. I have not finished the search as, I believe, the next step would be to disarm the air bag and remove it. I did not get to that job yet. The noise is intermittent and comes and goes. I may do it when I have more time or when wife complains more but please let me know if you find anything not related to glove box. Thanks

I pulled the cabin air filter out to see if someone put a handful of marbles in there. I noticed though that the plastic outer cover, which is painted and fits into the back of the glove box, was missing. I wonder if there is a place for it to fall into and bounce around?
