Default Playing home burned CD-Rs

Is there a final answer to this question? I got my music into audio.wav files, "burned" them to a 700 mb Verbatum CD-R disc... but still no love. They will play on a 2006 subaru but not in 1999 6-disc carousel disc changer.

Can you play original CDs? If yes then a copy without changing the format will work too. MP3 etc would not work.

Couple of things to keep in mind are:

Thickness fro home burnt CD is typically more. Dont even think about adding a label. Just use marker on the reverse side.
The CDs go upside down. This is lot easier to spot with the art work on the originals.

Before I installed a GROM Bluetooth adapter and played CDs, I would burn them in iTunes as an audio CD. That worked flawlessly each and every time!

I have windows but I think there is an itunes on it . If I can figure it out Ill try it. I know Windows Media Player on Verbatum CD-R does not work.

Guys just thought I'd post my experience and solution in case the issue is the same. I wasted several discs until I dug further and realized many of my MP3 CDs use ID3 2.4 which is not supported by a lot of headunits:

After removing ID3 2.4 tags I was able to burn and play my MP3s like normal.

You can't just burn .wav files to a CDR and play them on the changer. The disk must be burned in Redbook audio format. Most modern software has the option to "burn an audio CD" which will do this.
