Removing the CAT System.

Removing the CAT System.
Hello all, I have a 1999 with 177,700 on it. I have a blown out flex pipe (I really hate this component) and upon inspection I pulled a half dollar size piece of debris from the third (by the muffler) cat indicating that one (or both) of the upper cats have collapsed. Could I remove all 3 cats and be fine like I have done to several vehicles, or would if make the motor run worse? And what about the O2 sensors, would I remove them or custom fit them to the catless system? I have not messed with imports before but I have always done my own mechanical work and also do classic restorations.
Thanks in advance

Assuming
You don't live in an area with emissions, you may be ok. I say May because there could be some issues. The cats provide a certain amount of back pressure, if you remove it...may or may not run differently. There will be a code thrown due to the o2 sensors not reading right. May be a work around if that bothers you.
As far as the a/f sensors, they're installed before the cats, and those are vital for the engine to operate properly. But I'm pretty sure the bungs are welded in the exhaust manifolds, so won't be an issue.
finally your cars exhaust will stink, as cats burn off excess fuel, make the exhaust smell much better. Again, just something to think about.
