Red face 1999 RX300 loose spoiler?

As a noob here, I need to ask, about my attached spoiler on my '99 RX300. Is it supposed to be loose that it can be rotated up? I've noticed it make a rattling noise when it's windy. I can't see how to tighten it down. Just asking.

Thanks. It took me forever to find where to post a new thread, and I didn't bother to check the topic. Re-posted where you advised. Now how do I delete it?

First gen has had different spoilers. '99 had a slat (angled down to redirect flow) version and later they changed to a visor (straight out)
It should be firmly attached to the hatch.
For 99 Get on a step ladder and you can see cover over the posts that go from the spoiler assemble to the hatch. The two oval covers are glued down and once you remove them, you can see the screw head. Tighten them down .. [I dont have the torque]

There are three points of fastening. Each has a two-point attachment. The oval covers remove reveals a hex head bolt. Each of these are tight. But there's a another fastener next to each of these hex head bolts that goes down an "inside" the frame of the hatch. They seem to be in holes "designed?" for them to move upward, thus letting the spoiler to rotate up? I can see no way of getting inside that hatch frame to reach this part of the spoiler. I'll look again. Removing the inside upholstery cover, doesn't reveal any access. I'll may have to take a picture. It's almost like they were designed to rotate up, but doesn't make sense re purpose. I fear it's going to come loose.

There are three support points but 2 points are used to anchor. Each anchor has a bolt and a plastic pin. Bolt holes have an adjustment (oversized) for alignment and manufacturing tolerances. There is rubber piece that goes between the spoiler assembly and the hatch to prevent metal to metal contact. The rubber has adhesive on both sides and once the anchor bolts are snug there is no play between the spoiler and hatch.

Did your come from factory or was it an add on?

This came this way. It's the older version spoiler with the three support points as you noted. The top (oval cover) hex bolts are tight but the 2nd pt, post goes into a larger hole into the hatch frame. I thought they just became loose and why they rotate up, but maybe there's supposed to be some rubber cushion here? I might just cut a few rubber washers open and insert them over this 2nd post to keep the noise down. I was just curious if the movement was intended? (I'd send a picture, but don't know how)
