RX300 alarm sounds after I stop car
The alarm sounds every time I stop my 1999 RX300. I stop the car, remove the key, and after about ten seconds the alarm sounds, unless I press the unlock button.
This began after the battery died. It has happened in the past but was fixed by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes, then reconnecting. But this time, the problem will not go away.
Any ideas?

Try 20 mins or longer. Make sure you use a registered Master key after reconnecting.
I vaguely remember inserting and pulling out the other two keys in succession without turning the ignition switch. What I dont remember is was it accompanied by closing the driver door.

* PS : I think I was following instructions given by service tech over the phone.
**PPS: I am not very sure the procedure or even the issue is the same as yours. If some one posts a confirmation, only then I would follow what I stated.

Thanks, Salim. It seems to be fixed.
The answer seems to be repeatedly locking and unlocking with the key in the locks. Various procedures sound like voodoo but I picked one I found in another thread. It is simply to lock-unlock five times using the key in the driver door; then do same in passenger door.
I did not disconnect the battery.
