back firing out the intake and rough idle???
my moms 2000 is back firing out the intake under most throttle positions and has a hunting rough idle and stalls if you put it in R or D but take off like it should under WOT.
im about to junk it. there is one code "bank 1 to rich" dont think thats the cause of a lean pop out the intake
i have tested the fuel pressure and its solid at 50psi, cleaned the maf and test idle air valve by hand.
i have replaced the spark plugs, coil packs and fuel injectors. in a failed attempt to find the problem.
if you push the peddle it will stumble and backfire out the intake 90% of the time some times it acts normal. im running out of ideas and nerves. any help would be great.

You're in limp mode. You really can't trouble shoot much when it's in limp mode. Fix whatever is throwing the code(s) like maybe B1 air fuel sensor and everything else might be totally fine.

Timing is off. As timing is electronically controlled, it's bad belt or belt tensioner. Likely tooth skipped on sprockets. Or, your VVT-I is out of order, causing havoc, as it controls when valves open, so it clearly does not close intake valves during combustion phase.

so your telling me the computer isn't smart enough to know there are major issues with the timing and or vvti system? i just find it infuriating that there is only 1 code

Was anything done to the vehicle which was an onset of the problem?
Misfire is usually a timing issue. Spark-valve position-fuel.

forgot to add i changed the TPS with the coils and injectors.
i dont mind spending money on it to fix it, i just dont want to replace 10 parts when only 2 or 3 are the problem.
timing belt and idler were done about 30 to 40k ago

ok so I did the knock sensor hack cause one was bad and replaced both upstream O2 sensors. now I'm getting p0171 and p1150 got a bad sensor waiting on replacement.
what causes a p0170?

Which year is your RX and how many miles? Did the problems just pop up all of a sudden?
