Default RMS Question

greetings all.
I have a 2001 RX300 AWD with only 125,000 Miles. I have had it since 2003. I take meticulous care of all my vehicles and most all maintenance on them.
Yesterday, after I left the house, my wife called me and stated there is a fist-sized oil puddle on the driveway. When I got home, I cleaned it. Then I ran another errand that took only 20 minutes of driving. This morning, the fist-sized oil spot was there again.
Climbing under the car, it is leaking in the typical location of a RMS leak. The aft bank of cylinders is for the most part dry. I cleaned up the oil on the bottom of the engine and removed the flywheel inspection plate. I then allowed it to run for 10 minutes or so. The oil was sweeping through again at the engine-to-transmission bolt on the aft side of the inspection area.
So, prior to ripping the entire engine/transmission out (or adding oil additive) my question is:
my wifes 2005 Odyssey just had the same leak last month and while researching the problem, I found the motor mounts to be shot. I replaced them and the oil leak stopped. Has anyone had the same success?
if just changing motor mounts, how would I tell if they are bad?
if adding oil additive, what is the success rate?
if dropping the entire motor/transmission, how big of a job is it?
I have done all of these before numerous times, but each vehicle is different.
thanks for any advice
Todd

I can't believe an additive would fix such major seal leak. But AT-205 is what I would try if you want to go that route.

I find it weird that I have never had a leak, and all of a sudden a fist-sized oil leak from the Rear Main Seal.
I am hoping that it is something else. I have already checked the PCV valve and it rattles and there is vacuum to it. But I ordered a new one anyways.
Is there any other ideas that you all might have that would cause such a large leak so quickly apart from a massive seal failure?
The engine mounts look good, and the PCV valve checks OK.

Have it checked by a competent mechanic. Not that you are not competent, but getting a second opinion [I think that is why you posted it here, but looking for a leak is best done in person]

I agree with you in theory. However, they are just going to say, “RMS is shot! $1200 please”
and since I do all my work by myself, I do not know any competent mechanics, which is hard to find in Orlando.

That would be a confirmation/diagnosis. You can undertake the work yourself ... keep in mind the engine comes out from below.
The thing to condor would be how much would you have to part with for the confirmation/diagnosis. Lexus would charge around $100. Other places would most likely do it for free.

This is true. If I can find a good mechanic to verify what is wrong, that is worth it.
I guess this is why I am posting here. To see if anyone else has had the same issue and found something else wrong that just makes it look like a RMS leak.
Anyone??
