Default What could be wrong?

I was driving on the highway at 100 KM/hr when the back tire behind the driver exploded. I matched on the brake and quickly let off and allowed the car to gradually role to a stop. I had to bring some of tire debris from the disk as it was entangled. Problem is now that the red brake sign that illuminates when the hand brake is engaged is now showing on the dash with the abs and vsc lights on.

What could be wrong with the brake system?

Start by a thorough visual. from a blowout are like swinging hammer and can cause serious damage. There is a rotation sensor and its cable is exposed. Check that one out.

You can see the lights. ABS, VSC and the hand brake light

Thank you Salimshah. After a visual inspection we discovered the hand brake cable was bad and wasn't returning so we got it changed out. The I drove like 1 km then the lights was all gone. Then aftetr driving for several kms the lights returned, that's after two weeks. Sometimes the lights will disappear and return. its been coming on and off. We did another visual inspection, everything was okay. So what could be wrong?

Check your ABS sensor cable.
