Tried to replace front sway bar bushings on daughter's 2001 RX (170K). Passenger side rear bolt snapped off so I stopped. Did not remove front bolt or touch driver side. There's only about 2 inches clearance above the snapped bolt. Drilling from above doesn't seem possible. On there bottom of the subframe below the bushing bracket there are drain holes that look like they could be enlarged to gain access to the end of the bolt. Anyone dealt with this before?
Used a 1 inch drill to enlarge the frame rail hole below the bolt. With the hole opened up I heated the area with MAP gas and used an Irwin BOLT-GRIP extractor.
Does anyone know the size of the bolt for the bracket. I bought an 06 GX470 the sway bar and corresponding parts removed. I now have all the parts but the bolts.
