Default New exhaust system recommendations

Hi all, Im thinking about getting a custom exhaust system done on my RX. One of my pre cats are going out, and I kinda would like a little more power anyway, so Im thinking about just unbolting the whole exhaust system and just driving up to a shop and redo the whole thing.

Now I know it is the law to have a cat on there, but what about pre cats?
Im thinking just replace with new pipe all the way from the headers, down to a new magniflow cat, and a magniflow or dynomax muffler where the resonator sits, and then split out to dual pipes with some nice tips out the rear.
Dont really care how loud it is, just that it sounds and looks good.

what size piping? and should it be a dual in and out muffler? does it matter? Do you think it would be possible for each header to have there own pipes, both go into the new cat, and have two come out, in other words, the cat would be like a X pipe or H pipe.

anyways, if anyone has any good ideas would love to know. Thank you!

I keep thinking I'll need to buy a new system for my daughter, but the old one keeps holding together. I had looked at Walker systems. Rockauto carries these. Worth a look, and pretty reasonable!

I was going to post this same thread today. My thoughts were you'd have to retain the pre-cats due to the sensors. I was going to nix the main cat (Kentucky doesn't do emissions) and just run straight pipe all the way out with a straight through muffler. To my knowledge the sensor after the main cat doesn't affect the engine performance.

hopefully he'll chime in. But if my memory serves me correct, lexmex removed his pre cats with no I'll effect. I just wonder what size piping and all to get.

I'd be surprised if this will increase power significantly and you may have problems with annual emissions inspections (depending on your state)

My state has no emissions. I believe the pre cats are going out. Considering the main cat will still be there, I wonder if it will be ok to remove them or gut them out
