Default Can someone help me name this part?

2002 RX 300
It's on the driver's side front door.

Either it is the hinge or door ajar limiter.

I don't think it's the hinge. It's usually called the door check, check strap, or sometimes the swing limiter.

Following the above two answers, I was able to confirm that It is called door check, or check strap. It limits how wide the door opens, and keep the door open at certain positions.

Some folks live without it, as they think the passenger will control the limit of travel. That works till a sudden gust of wind can mean $$$ worth of repair.

Salvage yard is your best bet.

It's my wife's car. She will bring it to the Lexus dealer since I don't really have the confidence to fix it.

I like all my cars including RX300 to have a stronger hold in the middle of door swing; they are too light.

It only has three bolts, I would get it and take it to a friend or local garage. You would be way ahead money wise over getting the free donuts and coffee. I do see that you would have to remove door panel to get it installed. that is easy for me, but might require a little more labor. I would think one hour total of labor charge.
