Default Snow chains

Okay this feels like a dumb question but here goes:

What type of snow chains should I get for the RX 300? I don't have snow tires. I see that there are a few different types of chains. I've never had to use them before but I might have to soon for some trips up to an area near Lake Tahoe. My model has the little ECT SNOW button as well.

It looks like there are snow chains that actually are chains:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003SK8DMQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_l.pwCbAM9VNP7

Then there is one where it looks like metal strips going across:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000VAKXVA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_F8pwCb2QVXB79

And then there is a type that looks like individual plastic strips:

It looks like there are some other different looking types as well.

Can I get some suggestions?

I cant comment on the chain, but would like to expand on SNOW mode.

Please do not think that the button will allow the vehicle to be driven in snow. All this button does is when you move off from standing still in the forward direction, instead of dropping down to gear1, the transmission is put in gear 2. This reduces the torque to the wheels and due to less force, forward motion push is reduced .. that in turn the tires do not slip as easily.

Thank you. I'm aware of that as well.

I don't think you can put chains on this car. There is not much room between the top of the tire and the lower spring seats.

As I recall, Lexus actually made snow chains or ropes for this vehicle. I found a part number at the time, but it was long discontinued.

This website is saying that these are okay with my RX300. It did ask what model of car I'm looking for, then it asked specifically about my tire size. The site might not know about clearance space on individual models though.

I don't read the eTrailer website to say that. It says they fit the standard RX300 tire size - 225/70-16. It says check the owners manual for any restrictions.

I think you'll be fine as long as the chains arent over 1/2" thick.
I run 255/50/19 and i have tons of clearance on the front struts (spring seat). Maybe 2+ inches.
29" tall compare to 28.4" on stock tires.
And about 1/2" wider on each side.
Rears are another story.
Maybe 4mm max maybe but still clears both spring seat and strut.

I called up the Lexus dealership yesterday and asked what options I have. The parts guy said that they sell Alpine Sport chains by Laclede and that they would work on my RX300. He also told me that they are supposed to be put on the front end only when I am in snow.
