master key battery
The master key remote seems to experience slowness when lock/unlock.
Sometimes, needs to press 2-3 times.
It is a 2000. How long does the key battery last?
What kind of battery does it use?
Thanks.

I'd say it's overdue for a new battery. It's a common watch-type battery. I replaced two for a neighbor.
It's simple to replace if you have a small-sized phillips screwdriver to open and close the case. You can buy replacement batteries at a drug store, or probably have it replaced at a Radio Shack or Walmart.

KEY REMOTE
Most vehicle remotes use a #2032 battery. I get them at Radio Shack for $3.00 each. I have to replace the one in my Chevy Silverado remote about every 2-3 months.

Remote Key Batteries
The batteries in the remotes are CR1616 and those batteries last about 2-3 years on average depending on usage. You can get them at Radio Shack if you don't want to buy them from the dealers.

thanks for all the help guys.
I popped it open and it uses panasonic cr1616.
Since I have only 1 master remote key, I want another one.
Would like to explore alternative before shelling out $140 for one.
I am thinking to get one from ebay(~$30) that is for another rx.
Programming is not a problem. Getting a side-winder
blank cut is also available. The hard part is spliting out the metal key
and replace to fit the key case. The metal key part seems to be
molded in the plastic inside the case.
Anyone tried this before?
