Default Valve Train Rattle after car sits for a few days?

Hello

I didn't drive my RX300 for about 10 days. Upon start up I heard some rattling for a few seconds that sounded like the valve train. This happened a couple of months ago upon startup after I didn't drive the vehicle for a few days.

I understand this is likely tensioner/belt rattle till it built up oil pressure. Is this normal? Does the tensioner have any adjustment?

What kind of oil filter (brand) are you using. ? Some don't have proper drain back valve.

I think this is pretty normal. I hear nasty cold starts all the time working at a shop. They just keep going year after year though. I have found an awesome oil adative after trying many over the years called Liqui-Moly. You might be interested in it. It's a friction modifier that coats all the metal like cam lobes, lifters, rockers, chains if present etc. This makes for quiet smooth cold starts. It really helps reduce wear. I've had many vehicles with lifter tick on cold starts (especially my girls BMW E60 530i.) The noise goes away completely after adding a can to a fresh oil change. I have nothing to do with this company, just telling you what I have experienced works.
