Lately I've noticed a strange noise coming from the rear of my RX300. It is a weird noise.Sounds like rear tire rubbing. It only does it when I am travelling at low speed, and is very hard to hear. Dealer sad that I have to leave my car over the weekend and one of their tech guys will take it for a ride around the block or even take it home and try to find out whats wrong. Anyone else ever have this problem?? I don't really like that some tech guy will drive my 39k rx for a couple of days.

It sounds like the rubber supports on the shocks. There is an upper and a lower. I have a sever problem with my lowers. I usually give it some WD-40 and it goes away. However, next time I go to Lexus, I will have those rubber supports changed out. Seems like they make more noise when it is cold.

A friend of mine has a 2003 RX and heard a similar noise recently. He called the local dealership and they knew what the problem was by his description. He took it in and they had it fixed in an hour or two. I believe my friend said it had something to do with the rear differential (Don't quote me on that). Apparently it wasn't too serious of a problem. They told him they have had others with the same problem ...is there a service bulletin out regarding this?
