should I add washers for a valve cover job?
Hi
I have read things about the shoulder washers bottoming out and not getting the proper torque therefore people use a couple of washers.
I am not sure if this applies to the RX300 or some of the other 1MZ toyota engines. I have heard there are a few variations on the 1MZ valve cover.
What should people with RX300s do?
Reuse the bolts as is, use bolts with washers, or purchase new bolts?

The valve cover gasket should come with rubberized washers. Use the small range torque wrench.
All Toyota/Lexus vehicles I have seen leak at the valve cover around 90k
Do you plan to change the spark plug tube gaskets? I do those too.
