Default Bulb combination for optimal color uniformity

Hi all, new owner of a 2003 RX300 (115k miles) with HID headlamp assembly.

Not sure what bulbs are in there right now, but definitely xenon bulbs in the lowbeams and halogens elsewhere. I understand that the high beams double as DRL but run off of reduced voltage (and thus, brightness and color) when in DRL state.

Bulbs are dim and lows certainly point too low and need minor adjustment. Figured I'll replace both lowbeams and both high beams.

Any recommendations on a combination of bulbs that will produce uniform color amongst my lows, highs, and highs while in DRL state? Or as close to uniformity as the layman's naked eye could tell.

Do I go LED in the high beams and a cooler than stock HID "xenon HID bulb" for the low beams? Or halogen highs, stock color temp Xenons in the lows? I'm getting mixed information, including recommendations to run anything from 35w bulbs to much higher wattage.

Also, my understanding is that these are reflector style assemblies. With advancements in LED headlamp output and performance, could i put LEDs in the low beam by somehow modifying or disconnecting the ballasts or some component? Would these potentially outperform (in terms of looks, longevity, power consumption, price, etc.) wtihout
blinding oncoming drivers, or do i have to use "xenon" bulbs for the low beams?

I see many similar threads but with new technology and so many more products on the market, would like a 2019 perspective for bulb solutions for my factory HID lights. First car with actual HIDs so learning as i go.

Thanks, any input or opinions greatly appreciated

Default HB3 vs 9005, D2R vs 9006

Also, the outside of the headlight assemblies have "HB3" and "D2R" written on the actual plastic.

It seems these are interchangeable in fitment with 9005 and 9006 size bulbs, but are there actually interchangeable or what is the actual difference?

Do and factory HID owners rock bulbs marketed and sold as 9005+9006 or do you use bulbs that are specifically" HB3+D2r"? Thanks
