Default rotor brands

I need to do my brakes. Both front and rear. All of the rotors are too thin to resurface and the front pads are done.

Should I get OEM rotors from the dealership or are aftermarket rotors cool? If so, which brands?

Price them from the dealer and then decide if it is worth paying that much.

You can find Brembo rotors on rockauto. They make quality products and the prices are a fraction of oem

My local dealer says $99.60 for each front rotor and 85.01 for each rear rotor. So $369.22 for a full set front and rear.

Get Brembo from RockAuto; will cost you about $150 total front and rear.

X2 Brembo and Centric have worked well for me. I'm about to order another set of Centric's for the rear, $40 shipped from Rockauto

With the age and with the price difference I too would suggest after market quality product.

If you are DIY type then even life time warranty offered by parts store on what ever they carry would be OK.

Slotted/cross_drilled are an overkill in my opinion.

I have the Power Stop and no issues after a year. My OEM rotors had seen a lot of wear from time in Mexico (high altitude, low oxygen (23% less than sea level)) and rather than machine them one more time, I did some research and got those. I sincerely doubt you will ever see the kind of wear and tear I saw south of the border and throw in 1/4 mile racing which required heavy stopping. Even 10 years (when I switched my rotors a year ago) after leaving Mexico, the rotors I had did not become significantly worse over time living mostly in Miami at sea level.

I got NAPA pads and rotors. 2 years later, the rotors have warped. It's a tough call on a 20 year old car but if I had to do it again, I would go OEM.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'll give the Brembo brand a shot.

I just spent a fair amount to fix the knock sensors earlier this month and I'm not feeling like spending a lot on the rotors.

I'm not keeping this car very much longer, maybe another year (I keep saying that), so I'm really trying to minimize how much I spend now (within reason).
