2000 RX 300 AWD transfer case leak??

I have the same vehicle and has oil leak at the same spot. Just ordered a new seal and will get it installed this week. It looks like you have to drop the drive shaft to get to the seal. Shouldn't be that difficult. I'd assume some of the oil will run out after removing the seal. So try to break loose the fill hole bolt first.

When removing c/v's, axle's best to go ahead & replace the seals, really not that much & are simple to do. Afterwards a light coating of oil on the interior of the seal & carefully holding, guilding the axle thru the seal & not resting the weight of the c/v, axle on the seal. On one of my cars, I replaced the passenger side axle, (thanx to a carrier bearing ratttling around) I just replaced the axle as the seal wasn't leaking & careful handling of the removal & installation of the replacement axle.
