Brake light switch keeps failing

I am about to install my 3rd break light switch at the pedal, they only last a few days and I cannot figure out why. Once off brand failed in less then a week, an OEM one also failed within a week. Cruise control still turns off when brakes are pressed, but no break lights. I have tested the switch at the break pedal and pushing the button is does not complete the circuit. I am getting 12.1 volts at the switch. So what is wrong? I am desperate to get the brake lights fixed for good. The controller in the rear is working fine.
Thanks

I can't speak much about off brand, but where did you purchase the OEM from? If you bought it from an authorized dealer, please take it back as the item should be in warranty. Also check if the brake circuit fuse is of the right Amperage. In case there is a problem with the load, the fuse should pop and not the switch contacts. You may like to check the switch position. It should not be at the verge of on/off with the foot off the pedal as in this condition you will arc out the contacts.

Are you sure it is the stop light switch?
The power input is on pin 2 (G-B). Output is pin 1 (G-W). There are two other pins for the cruise control actuator, ignore those. As I read it pin 1 is connected to multiple things

- Light failure sensor
- Cruise control ECU
- ABS and traction control ECU
- Body ECU
- Shift lock ECU
