Moisture in headlights?
Was washing the wife's RX yesterday and both headlights fogged up. One worse than the other. After about 20 minutes most of it went away.
Was this just a combo of the low humidity outside or a possible problem? Car has 48,500 miles on it so if it is an issue, I'd like to have the dealer check it out - of course both headlights look perfect now.
Car is a 2000.
Thanks in advance,
Doug

doug, I haven't had this problem on wifey's RX, but it is a known issue with the first gen SC and the GS. Not to state the obvious, but the problem is that the seal for the plexiglas lens to the headlight assembly is no longer perfect.
Since you are still under warranty, I'd take it to the dealer. Even if they return the car to you with the notorious service notation "unable to duplicate problem", you at least have a record that the problem began while the car was still under warranty, making it far more likely that Lexus will replace the headlight assemblies when they DO get to the point of staying fogged (or even filling partway with water!!!).

EV ftw!!!
What I would do if I were you Doug is to make an appointment with the dealer at a time when you can wash it 20 mins prior to the appointment, that way they can see the moisture themselves. That is what I did and they did not even argue with me. Proof was right in front of them.

I had the same problem when i received my 330. Noticed the next day after it rained there was some fog build up in the lights. Called my dealer and got a new pair under warranty. But yea as Hameed said you should call up your dealer and make an appointment. GL

Foggy lamps
One of my fog lamps in "fogged" up with moisture after my first drive through car wash. I gave it a week to dry up but the moisture never went away. I took it to my dealer (in Toronto, CA) and the technician indicated it was a common Lexus problem (said something like "those boys still can't fix that problem") and replaced the entire fog lamp. Luckily no moisture build up since then.

i got a loaner 330 before with this problem. it cleared up after a week, had them wash it (weird that i would get a loaner washed at the dealer) and the moisture came back!
