Car chugs at idle
#3
Good suggestion about IACV. Also check for vacuum leaks.
Once things are tinkered with items that can impact idle, it may be worth resetting the ECU [reposition the program to middle and let the thing establish new norm. If you don't do that it may take you a bit longer to come to the new normal.

I got similar experience with my Toyota Avalon 1995 (same engine 1MZ-FE as the 1st generation RX300). The car started, but acted like a fish taken out of water then stalled. I was panic. After a few failures of attempting starts, I kept my foot on the gas pedal right after starting, and continued to do it until the engine warmed up then drove home.
It turned out the sticky Idle Air Control Valve. Before that incident happened, the car hiccuped when stopped at a red light a few times, but I ignored it.

I just started experiencing the same issue and mine would stall if I took my foot off the gas pedal. Stalled on me 7 times on an errand yesterday, was so happy to make it back home! Phew. I just cleaned the IACV & MAF and it's idling nicely, will see how she continues to behave with more actual driving and stopping.

RX is very finicky. You can experiment and use other brand plugs, but it is worthwhile to use OEM to establish a baseline operation. Once you reach that stage, you can try other plugs to see if things get better or worse.
