cel p0330 -bank 2 knock sensor fail
after doing some research n watching videos on youtube Im considering taking it to a shop to do this fix. When I called a few shops asking for a quote, couple shops said that the pcv valve and hose would also need to be replaced as well as the gaskets for intake manifold (1 upper & 2 lower).
Could someone chime in and confirm the pcv valve, hose, & gaskets would also need to be replaced? If yes, anyone know part #, manufacturer of the parts?
So far I have purchased 2 knock sensors & wiring harness (oem -denso)
I called a nearby lexus and asked how much parts were and I was quoted:
pcv valve : $25
Pcv hose: $15
Upper gasket: $55
2 lower gasket: $65
Also does anyone know how much a shop should charge ballpark figure for this work?
Thanks in advance

There are 2 hacks and a proper fix. Please search under 'knock sensor'. In DIY sticky thread we have a pointer to the DIY.
For labor, the term is 'book hours' ... a standardized line item number of hours to perform certain services. Then there is labor rate and you are eventually billed for hours x labor rate.
I estimate the book hours to be 6-8 so it will not be cheap.
When an owner purchases the parts, they become responsible for the part to be working and if after service, it is determined that the part provided was not in working condition, the shop can charge twice for a redo.
With this high labor charge, I would let the shop buy the parts. There are sub standard parts being sold by non-legit sellers.
PCV and hose are reasonable side purchases based on time in service. There is a bypass coolant hose that may require replacement. Might swell do the coolant replacement.
I would also replace wire harness from the sensors.

PS: Altering emission wiring [Hacks] are illegal and only proper fix is the right thing to do.

Also, people have reported quick failures in a few months to a year not using oem knock sensors.
Other people have reported non oem knock sensors not working properly on our cars out the the box new.
