Default New owner questions........

Hello everyone, I'm going to be picking up a 99 RX 300 from dealer on Thursday. My first Lexus. Two questions for now. I've looked over archives and seems many change over to snow tires. I live in New Jersey and know how to drive in snow. Do you feel OK without snow tires or do I REALLY need them? I have a BMW Z3 that I would NOT take 5 ft. in snow without snow tires and then I have a Ford Escort that gets me everywhere without them. So are they a must or just being extra cautious? Second question. Has anyone installed a rear wind spoiler by themselves? This vehicle is coming without one but we like the look so I'm going to get one and install myself if not too much of a PIA. Thanks for any and all info.

Do you live in southern NJ (below the Mason-Dixon line) or northern NJ? Also, is your RX300 FWD or 4WD?

Having lived in upstate NY, I can tell you that nothing helps when the snow gets much deeper than the bottom of the car (unless you fit a snow plow)

Default I leave in Central, NJ along the shore........

Wife will be travelling North Jersey with it this winter. It is 4X4 AWD. Has that "snow" button to lower starting torque.

Ed, I never had any trouble in snow in a '99, I lower the psi to 32 in winter and maybe 28 in real snow !

Love it in snow - but wish I were in FL!!

If you have the AWD you'll be OK.
