Default RX300 Brake Light Short

I've taken care of this 2000 RX300 for over 20 years. But I can't figure this one out.
I've checked all the brake light bulbs. They're all ok.
But every time I put a new fuse in the socket, it blows.
I haven't checked the brake light switch because all of the problems I've seen with the BLS are open circuit problems.
Any suggestions on what could cause a Short?

Well, with the fuse blown the brake lights don't work and I can't legally drive the car.
One other issue.
I have to push the shift interlock button to get the car out of park.

Maybe you should check the brake light switch after all

I just removed the brake light switch. That power outlet was the hard part.
Anyway, nice clean silver solder joints no discoloration.
and I'm still blowing fuses.

Looking at the wiring diagram the 20A stop light fuse is connected to pin 2 on the stop light switch connector via a green-black wire.
Assuming the wiring chart isn't "simplified", if the fuse is blowing with the stop light switch connector disconnected it's got to be the connector or the wire between there and the fuse.

Discoloration [green stuff] is typically a high resistance point. You have a short.
