Default Key Fob Program

I have a 2007 RX and while I was doing repairs I pulled the battery which took out the remote memory. I tried to follow two YT videos to program the door lock buttons. Neither worked.
Anyone who has used a repeatable Key Fob reprogram sequence I’d appreciate really the heads up
Thanks
Hary

I just got the car a few weeks ago so I’m looking into buying a Techstream system but no I don’t have one yet. I’ve read the the background and personal issue is all my systems are Mac so l’m going to have pick up a Windows based OS.

The other viable option would be buying a key and having a local locksmith program it for you.

The key isn't the problem. It was working. I'd replaced the key fob battery 3 weeks earlier and all functions worked perfectly. The key fob remote functions worked fine before I pulled the Cars main battery cable due to lengthy repairs needed.

So re initialing the fob with car "should" make the fob workable again it's just that the YT video procedure somehow didn't get the car in the learning mode to accept the fob remote button actions or I missed something. That's more to the point of what I need to find;

Thank you for the post DennisMik
Due to the videos I was guided slightly different in two different stages and I'll try the listed fob learning procedure asap.
I'll let you know the results either way shortly
I appreciate the help.

I tried the procedure using both keys simultaneously and it worked. The car accepted both and both sets of remote key fob buttons work
Thanks again DennisMik

Is this used for programming a completely new transponder?

Not sure what you mean by "transponder". The procedure will program a key fob (new or otherwise) to open & lock the doors. The chip in the key that allows you to start the car is not programmed into the car's computer with this procedure.

I followed these steps, but at step 9, my vehicle didn't do the lock and unlock cycle. Do you know why this happen? Is there any suggestion on what I should do?

I don't know why the procedure failed step 9. I wonder if you already have 4 other key fobs programmed to your car. Toyota only allows 4 key fobs and a 5th one would br ignored. You could try step 7c which is to find out how many key fobs are currently programmed to your car. If you do have 4 already, then you will have to erase all the current key fobs (step 7b) and then program in only the ones you want.

But I successfully program the immobilize for that key. And I can use it to start the car. I just couldn't get the remote work. So I don't think it's because the car had reached its maximum key, right???
