no, I am unsure - a bit confused - both have positives and some negatives. I have a BMW Conv. now so I am used to driving that, but the Lexus seems to be a better value - the sales department quotes a price and does not seem to be playing games like the BMW staff does and I respect that A LOT. I now need to go put the "new" "very large" baby seat in them both and see which fits the best in the second row for my 6 month old. And, I want to take the RX up the mountain in the snow tomorrow to see how that handles compared to the X5.

bandit: Does your BMW convertible's gas pedal hang from the dash or mounted on the floor like the X5's? That's one thing I didn't like after testing the X5 (it was sort of sticking also).

I dont know! I never looked that closely , but I think it is on the floor. Who has experience with the RX in the snow and what are the positives and negatives? I am going to try to test drive again today, but I am sure I am drviing the sales rep crazy...

I had a Mercedes with all wheel drive and snow tires too. It had rear-wheel bias, with power split 35-65. Going straight was fine. However, if you took turns too fast, the back end would fish tail out. My front wheel drive mini-van turned better.
The BMW X5 also has the rear-wheel bias whereas the Lexus RX330 is 50-50. Although I havent driven the RX yet in snow, I think it will handle better.
