new to lexus
Hi guys, i have just purchased a 2007 rx350 for a work vehicle.. It has 250000km on it. The motor runs a smooth as butter and the tranny ****s smooth.. But when i start to drive i hear something out of the back area of the vehicle, it sounds like the vehicle is not shifting out of low speed.... but its not in the front but in the back and its not rpm dependant.. iam listening when i accelerate and the motor and tranny are buttery smooth when shifting but the noise keeps revving as the speed increases... It sounds like the rear-end is stuck in high 4 and as i speed up it whins more and more;; Again i just bought the vehicle last week, but this just doesn't sound normal.. Any one have a possible idea???

Lexus stopped making RX300 in 2003. So yours cannot be a RX300.
That apart, a while back, I was hearing this noise from the back. My RX300 has a never-used trailer hitch. It got rear ended once and the hitch took the impact. No frame damage. But the exhaust started touching the hitch intermittently. And I could hear the noise. I thought my body guy corrected it. But apparently not 100%. I could hear that noise every once in a while. It sounded like creaking bushings.
My mechanic looked into it and said there was still some contact but it was because of a failed rear engine mount. Got the mount changed and all good now.
