I've never noticed any visible condensation in the headlight assembly, but then again, the plastic covers have yellowed and might make it harder to notice.

So frustrating not knowing if the ballast is the problem before removal. I'll have to have a plan for buying a ballast if I want to just replace the bulb. If I were to replace the whole assembly, it really would look odd to replace just the drivers side, and I hate the idea that the assembly replacements may not hold up well (that's why I was leaning towards keeping the originals).

you can swap the left and right globes to confirm if it is the globe without removing the headlight assy. do a search on this forum or google if the ballast is faulty buy a 2nd hand denso unit. do not buy cheap chinese.

I have a 2008 RX400h that I bought around 2015. One headlight is out. Both housings are yellowed so I'll just replace the whole thing on both sides. I believe these are the original factory. I know it has AFS, and in the manual the it shows the low beam headlight bulbs are halogen.
I'll pay a neighbor mechanic with a lift put them in when he replaces the windshield wiper pump. I know nothing about this stuff.
Is there a recommended brand I should buy or source I should buy from (or avoid! )? A guy that works at AutoZone suggested looking on Amazon.
Thanks,
zeppo
