Default Power Hatch

Hello. We just bought a 04 RX 330 and the auto hatch is in some cases working, other cases tries to open and either then opens with a slight assist or when the slight assist happens it closes and does not open. Other times it tries to open but just makes the electronic opening noise but does nothing. Any ideas please?

How are both struts? Do they hold the hatch? If is it sounds like you'll need the motor assembly, which is on the left side under the headliner. Fairly easy to replace, you'll need to be careful w/ the headliner, no to damage it. There are a few U-tube vids to show you. I'd also replace the struts as well........

They are both great. And I think I messed up. I just went out and depressed the auto button and now it is working fine. So all those situations I described happened because I did not have the auto engaged. I hope I did not hurt anything. Thank you very much for writing.PS do you know how to tell if the auto is engaged?
