Default HELP! Please

My RX400h was working perfectly. I had checked the oil etc and filled it to the brim with premium petrol ready for a 600 mile trip. It ran for 7 miles and petered out. The A.A. could start it but it wouldn't run. Had it lifted to my local, reliable garage (30 years) where it has been for the last 8 weeks. They and I are totally bewildered.

I'm not quite sure you are getting helpful answers and honestly, I'm not sure I can add a lot. I recently purchased a 400h and was concerned about the hybrid battery longevity. Could that be the problem? Have you had it checked for error codes? Have you had the 400h long enough to understand how the hybrid battery works?

I'm afraid I'm not adding much but leaving yours in the shop for 8 weeks without any resolution is kind of concerning. Does the shop have any experience with hybrids? What have they done to diagnose the problem? What have they done to try and fix it?

I think I'm understanding why you have not gotten more helpful answers. You haven't provided enough information about what's been done to diagnose the problem. Pretty sure it's not the oil or the petrol. And I'm just a girl. LOL

If you leave it at the shop for another 8 weeks, maybe that will solve the problem....

Man, if the shop did give you any information in 8days, move it out to a different shop or go to the shop to ask what's the advancement. It's most likely just sitting in a corner if they have other (pressing) customers, busy shops will postpone a job if the customers say is not in a hurry

Thanks for this but I know the car hasn't been ignored. No fault showed up on the diagnostic and they have run all sorts of checks without success.

Does the 3MZ use a fuel pump resistor like the 2GR? If so, and it is not connected or failed, it will cause a start, but then stop running issue after a bit when ECU switches from high to medium fuel pump voltage.

Of all the things that have been tried, this sounds the most plausible, unfortunately, one day too late.
