Default What kind of discount can I expect on a purchase???

I am in the market for a mid-size SUV. I've test driven the Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot, Acura MDX, Infinity FX35, Chrysler Pacifica, Chevy Trailblazer and the RX330.

I am down to the Honda Pilot EX-L and the RX330. Different vehicles, at different price points, but my two choices never-the-less.

I am located in Northern New Jersey and the Pilot is not being discounted significantly, even at the dealer where I purchased my current two Honda's. I would have to travel to Penn. or Ohio to save $2k or $3k off MSRP.

What kind of discount can I expect on a Lexus RX330. Based on the window sticker, I backed into the following numbers on the car that I test drove at Prestige in Ramsey NJ. AWD, Premium Plus (PT), heated seats w/ headlamp washer & rain wipers (HH), towing (TO), 18" alloys (FT):

36,425 base
4,638 packages
625 destination
---------
41,688 before tax

Can I expect significant discounting (i.e., close to invoice) on a purchase?

Additionally, what are the general financing terms on the 'December to Remember' program. Assuming good credit, what % can I expect out to 60 months?

Lastly, does the 'December to Remember' program have a 'cash incentive' as well.

All input is welcome on helping me. I want to make a choice before Jan 2.

Thanks in advance for all your assistance.

Michael

I can't help you with that exact configuration, but I just got an 04 RX330 AWD with Nav, Lev, & RSES for about $400 over invoice.

My MSRP was $46,858 and my price was discounted $5,329 to $41,529. The "invoice" was $41,129.

I live in Southern California, and "shopped" via the Internet and compared all prices before going into any dealer.

I ended up leasing for various reasons, and got a money factor of .000197 and a residual of 52% for the AWD. I'm very happy with the deal, the dealer, and the vehicle!

Hi Rugby -- I got my 330 in Jiuly (live in the Princeton area) and got the same package as the one that you are detailing for 38,800. I would do some comparison shopping on the net, and would not limit to the local dealers, as you may get a car shipped for significantly less. The one place I would get a quote from is JM lexus in Florida -- they are a great dealership and give very quick responses -- you will definitely save $$$ there, or at the very least, have a negotiation point for a local dealer...

Sorry -- one last comment . I was also down to the same two vehicles (with the MDX), and the 330 is worth the extra money (have driven the Pilot extensively -- friends have it.) if you can shell ou the extra 8K or so, I would choose the 330...
