Apologies if this has been covered in another thread - I recall reading something about this, but have searched and can't find the appropriate thread.....

Does anyone know if there is some trick, magic word or incantation to raise the rear wiper arm off the glass (to clean glass underneath and/or wipe blade)? The front wipers seem to lift easily enough, but I can't seem to lift the rear arm, and am hesitant to use too much force, lest I break something.

Any help would be appreciated....

Assuming you're referring to the 2004 RX330. According to Lexus, the rear wiper arm cannot be lifted all the way like the front wipers do. You can only lift the rear wiper arm a little away from the glass during cleaning.

The plastic part at the motor end of the wiper arm pulls off by gently lifting each side. The arm will pop up from there. It is really very quick and easy.

You just have to remove the plastic insert stopper. You can do this by lifting of the end cap and prying out that plastic stopper. I don't quite buy the Lexus dealer saying it was never meant to lift. If that were the case why would they design the spring in the arm like the front? Anyway, I have since removed my stopper and it lifts up just like the front with no negative affects.

I surgically removed my stopper also, thanks to CK6Speed's excellent find , and my wiper works and looks fine!
