my impression on RX330
My wife has been eyeing on the RX330 since it got out and I am waiting for the hybrid version. My GS4 was in to service and I got a chance to have a RX 330 as a loaner for last 3 days. So I did a trip to Tahoe and put about 500 miles on it.
My first impression is this SUV is very good in handling on freeway and ramps. even better than my moded GS4 which has Tein CS coil over and 19 inch staged wheels. I don't know why, somehow it gives me more confidence on freeway exit ramps and also those curved freeway like freeway 89 in Lake Tahoe. Also very nice interior. Smooth engine and ride. I have no idea it is a AWD or 2WD rx330. can some let me know how to identify?
but my biggest complain is the seat. it is so unconfertable. very hard seat compare to my GS4. which made I got a little back pain after 4 hours driving.
Also there is a lot of wind noise on the freeway compare to my GS4. Don't say I am comparing different class cars. when I was driving a 1999 es300, I had to say that car was quiet then my gs4.
BTW the loaner on has bout 4k miles on it.

I made the same wind noise observation in my post after a test drive. I attribute part of it to the fact there is virtually no road noise, unless the pavement is extremely coarse, and also virtually no engine noise. So the only thing left to hear is wind rushing past the A Pillars and or mirrors.

...SUV to SUVs?

By class I assume you mean price-range? Having owned 3 SUVs prevously, and driven countless others. My experience has been that the RX330 has the least wind noise of any mid-sized SUV. A more fair comparison might be: RX vs. GX vs. LX (all Lexus SUVs)
...and to expand the comparison include Volvo XC, Mercedes M, BMW X, Acura MDX
IMHO - Pitting two cars (the ES and the GS) against the an SUV (RX) isn't really a fair fight.
