RX 330 - Rear Wiper...again
Just thought I'd post this after taking my vehicle in for the 8000km maintenance.
I described the problem I'd been having with the rear wiper (not properly wiping that two-inch strip of window). He immediately recognized the problem and replied:
"Yes, I know. There's nothing that can be done about it."
D'oh!

Every time I bring my 330 in I complain about that and they replace the wiper blade insert. Never fixes the problem but I'm getting quite a collection of wiper blade refills.

Just find out this TSIB from NHTSA: 00804. REAR WIPER IMPROVEMENT. This might be the one can fix it.
I also found out another TSIB: 00504. BRAKE BOOSTER. Does anyone know what this is?

The rear wiper doesn't have enough force pressing down on the glass in order to do a clean sweep. Mine sucks too!?! But I wipe my windows everyday, so it's not too much of a problem for me.

Rear Wiper Assembly
First time Lexus owner.
What is the normal way that Lexus operates in component replacement situations like the rear wiper, will the dealer automatically replace the rear wiper assembly on the next service or does one has to complain first?

Most dealers are not going to give you the advise! You have to complain to them and then they will do it....Thats whats so great about the internet!!!
I have read about the front windows not sealing allowing road noise and now the wiper--I asked them about it and they said yep theres a fix--Done!

WHY?
Rear wiper sucks, dash rattle is terrible, did we buy a Ford or what?
Didn't have this much trouble with the Ford Explorer we had & that was $15K less.

THANKS
We have had it with this noise. I am calling the GM at the dealer today to see what my options are at this point. If they say they can't do anything for us like the Service manager did I think I will contact the main office of Lexus.

Assuming those are 2004 VIN's, that's an awful small range to be covered by the rear wiper TSIB.
The rear wiper has never worked well on the RX (whether 300 or 330), so it's one aspect of the car where I have very low expectations. msilverIS is right - it just doesn't apply enough force, especially on the far end of the blade, to maintain good contact with the glass and wipe cleanly. You may not have been getting much help from your dealer because there isn't a whole lot they can do - it's a design failure. Simply changing the blade doesn't do any good.
Does anyone have a very late '04 or an '05 (outside the range of the TSIB) where they're happy with the rear wiper performance? Does the new wiper solve the problems?
