New TSIB's for RX330
I checked Toyota's Service Site for new TSIB's, and found some good ones!
As before, I will not post the original documents, as they are copyrighted by Toyota. If you would like to get copies, visit their site at http://techinfo.lexus.com/ . You must pay for access, with prices ranging from $10 for one calendar day (access expires at Midnight PST) to $350 a year.
My other disclaimer about TSIB's: Your dealer must agree that you are experiencing the problem described in the TSIB before ordering parts or doing work. Sure, it's all covered under warranty, but Lexus relies upon their dealers to spend their warranty money wisely. So, you can't just march into the dealer with a TSIB in hand - you need to be able to describe and/or demonstrate the problem.
When given, the serial number range (last 6 digits of your VIN) indicates the point at which the factory implemented the change. If you serial number is LOWER than the serial number given, you might need the fix. If there is no number for Canada, then units made in Canada (VIN starts with a "2" as opposed to "J") are not affected.
That said... here's what's new since January. At least three of these have been discussed at great length here on the forum!
BO001-04 - Front Seat Backboard Trim Loose
Serial Numbers: 2WD - Japan 15224; 4WD - Japan 29887
The curved trim piece at the bottom of the back of the front seats (just above the floor) could come loose and stick out where it meets the rest of the seat back. Fix is a new, re-designed part.
EL002-04 - Power Back Door Inoperative (Updated April 5, 2004)
Serial Numbers: 2WD - Japan 27908, Canada 5492; 4WD - Japan 54350, Canada 8100
Symptoms are intermittent periods of inoperation of the power back door unit. Manual operation of the door may fix the problem temporarily. Computer does not throw a DTC code.
Fix is a new ECU computer control module for the back door.
SU001-04 - Front Suspension Noise
Serial Numbers: 2WD - Japan 24295; 4WD - Japan 46261
Some owners have complained of a creaking or knocking noise coming from the front of the vehicle when driving over small bumps, turning the wheels, or stopping. The fix is to replace an insulating piece under the front coil springs, assuming that's where the noise is coming from.
TC002-04 - Driveline Thump During Deceleration
Serial Numbers: 2WD - Japan 31105; 4WD - Japan 59251
Some vehicles make a groaning or humming noise decelerating from 50 MPH to lower speeds; this noise is most apparent decelerating in 4th gear. Other vehicles may make a thumping noise while decelerating at about 30 MPH, or when lightly accelerating around 55 MPH.
The fix is to replace one of the trans oil cooler hoses with a re-designed version.
These fixes should make a lot of us 330 owners a lot happier. Unfortunately, the other big complaint that we've had - the dash rattle - still doesn't seem to be fixed once and for all. At least the warmer weather has made my rattle disappear, but I'll keep waiting for the real solution.

There's also a TSB for the pins that hold the adjustable part of the roof racks in place; I guess upon sliding the racks, the thin "pin" breaks and the racks slide freely. Sorry, don't have the #.

msilverIS is referring to BO011-03, "Roof Rack Cross Bar Release Lever Improvement:".
There is no serial number range. If the cross bar locks are not working properly, the fix is to replace the cross bars with new ones that have redesigned locks. The TSIB is dated December 2, 2003.
The others I haven't posted yet that are related to problems of any kind:
AX004-03 - Accessory Wireless Headphones
No serial numbers - dated May 12, 2003
The wireless headphones for the RSES may suddenly turn off in cold weather conditions. Fix is to replace the headphones.
BO010-03 - Rear Spoiler Interference (October 23, 2003)
Serial Numbers: 2WD - Japan 14281; 4WD - Japan 25386
The rear spoiler may make a squeaking or ticking noise while operating the back door, because the spolier is rubbing slightly against the roof. The fix is new bolts and a new torque specification.
BO013-03 - Sun Visor Vanity Mirror Improvement (December 11, 2003)
Serial Numbers: 2WD - Japan 21043; 4WD - Japan 39820
When opening the little plastic door for the vanity mirror, the door may bind at the top in the center of the door, thus preventing the door from opening fully. The door has been redesigned, and the fix is to replace the entire visor.
AC002-03 Air Conditioning Performance Improvement (December 4, 2003)
Serial Numbers: 2WD - Japan 20593; 4WD - Japan 39322
After driving for a couple of hours in very hot and very humid conditions, the air blower output volume may decrease despite putting the fan on "high" in manual mode. This is caused by ice build-up on the evaporator. Fix is to install an inline thermistor wiring harness.
The others I posted in the past were for a dash rattle (which almost fixed the problem
), a headliner rattle, a multi-panel moonroof rattle, a glovebox rattle, and the transmission ECU module re-programming.

TC002-04 - Driveline Thump During Deceleration
Hi rxdriver,
Is this TSIB TC002-04 for whining noise during the deceleration at 4th gear between 40-30 mph? Is thumbing noise the same as whining noise? I know other thread also said this is for infamous clunking noise.
My dealer replaced FP 32907-48301 (Tube S/A Oil Cooler) and 90119-06942 (Bolt W/Washer) today. I still can hear the whining noise at 4th. I have not heard the clunking noise.
One thing I also notice is the FP number is different from other thread 32907-48300. Did my dealer use the wrong FP?

The TSIB doesn't use the word "whining"... it talks about "drone, groan, or hum" while decelerating around 50 mph, and a "thump" downshifting around 30 mph. I would interpret a whine as different from a groan or thump.
The two parts you got are the two parts referenced in the TSIB, I think. Maybe a typo on the number? I've got 32907-48031 for the tube and 90119-06942 for the bolt & washer.
You're right, this TSIB is aimed at the infamous transmission "thump" that people hear even after the transmission ECM update (if you needed it). The ECM update addressed poor shift decision-making by the ECM; the noise was associated with the trans oil cooler line. It just so happened that the trans made abrupt decisions around 25-30 mph, and that's also when the thumping noise occurred.
I hope the whining noise isn't new...

When I put the gear to use 4th, drive around 40 mph and release the throttle. You can hear the noise from rear. The noise is gone while accelerating. It can be reproduced by using D, the speed will need to be higher like 50 mph. It is easy to hear the noise while the car is downhill with 4th gear.
However, I have not had much time to drive after they replaced the parts today. I will try to see if I still hear the noise in couple days.

Hello, I am from Indonesia, and have problem with my moonroof and center console rattling, local dealer and service center can't help because it is imported car. I also can't access the TSIB subscription cos I don;t have US address.

I have this issue on my 2004 RX. My vehicle is out of the basic warranty period so this fix is no longer covered. I asked my dealer about the cost to fix this and they quoted around $500 (I asked about 6 months ago and don't remember the exact cost). I was hoping to just get the part from some junk yard since apparently 2005+ all have the newer part. Does any one know what the part # is for the re-designed part?
