Default Pricing info in Canada

This is my first post. I am looking to buy a 04' RX 330. Does anyone have any info on the invoice prices in Canada? In the alternative, how much do you pay for your 330? Thanks

I live in Ontario but ended up buying a 2004 RX330 in the US because it was about $3,500 CDN cheaper. The local dealer wouldn't knock off more than $1,500 CDN from list but the US dealer took off about $2,000 US plus I also got the towing packing and the 18" wheels. It was an arm and a leg to get the 18" wheels in Canada on anything but the Sport model.

Good luck negotiating in Canada but we haggled for a long time and got only the $1,500 off despite knowing the salesman from a previous sale.

After reading a lot of comments from US buyers, it appears they are getting thousands of dollars off their purchases. Wonder if any one in Canada has been successful in this regard?

Fatcat - I think your best bet would be to get a quote from a US dealer just over the border, then ask the sales manager (not just the sales person) at your local Lexus dealer, how close he could match.... It's certainly worth a try.

I was able to purchase my RX 330 almost 1000 below the market value in my area (Florida), by showing my local dealer quotes from Lexus dealers in two other cities. My dealer came within $300 of the lowest quote I had, and I went ahead purchased my RX from him. Saved me an out of town trip, not to mention, it gives me a little extra piece of mind to purchase from the same place I'll be taking it for service or repair. Good luck.

Btw, I'm curious to know how you do, since I have family that also live in Canada (Vancouver area).

Hi there. This is my first post to this forum. Just bought an RX330 ultra premium from a Canadian dealer. If you do a google search for Canadian invoice pricing, you can come up with companies like this . Haven't used this particular company, so can't speak for their quality. However, you may find this useful:

Canadian 2004 RX330 MSRP/invoice pricing:

Base: $49900/45335
Luxury pkg: $2800/2235
Sport pkg: $7835/6378
Premium pkg: $5190/4209
Premium w/multi-moon pkg: $7430/6046
Ultra Premium pkg: $12700/10370

You'll get a much better deal on a 2004 now than you would by waiting for a 2005. My dealer said they sell 2005 close to retail for the first few months. Buy near the end of the week, near the end of the month. Buy on a bad weather day when the dealership may be slow. Don't buy on a sunny Saturday when the dealership is packed and all the salesmen have dollar signs in the eyes. According to Lemon-Aid, most dealers will accept 6-8% profit margin. Do the math and you'll note around 11% profit margin on MRSP on the highest priced RX330. Knowing how much the dealer is getting on the sale makes a huge psycological difference during the negotiations. Now if business is hopping in your particular area, you may not be able to get very far even when armed with invoice pricing, as they know they can just sell to the next guy. But every little bit helps, and when you decide on a fair price, you at least know that you aren't getting taken for a ride. Incidently, I was able to get $3000 knocked off the price of the UltraPremium RX330, but the dealer told me that I was getting an amazing deal and they don't sell many RX's at that price. Not sure if I believe them or not, since I think every dealer tells you that you're getting a great price. I mean, have you ever seen a dealer laugh maniacally when you sign on the dotted line? I think not. Hope that helps and good luck. Hope others tell us in this thread what they paid for their RX, as I'm curious to know what the average Canadian selling price is.

Thanks Spambait for the valuable info. It's been tough negotiating with the dealers. The best I can do is about $1,500 off MSRP. Maybe I'll try your strategy and see if it works better. But you sure got a great deal with $3,000 off as far as I know. In the meantime, I am still debating whether to wait for the 05' so that Lexus can iron out whatever minor glitches with the 04's or get a good deal on the remaining stock of 04's.

Someone I know leased their 330 back in December. When he was all done with the process, he asked the salesman if he thought he got a good deal. The salesman said... you got an "OK" deal. I can't believe that a salesman would have the $%^& to say that to a customer but this one did. I didn't get the fine details but he told me enough to know that he did everything wrong when buying a new car. He got much less on his car and paid more than I did. Of cource December was a different time and you'll find much better deals on 04's today.

Probably the best week to buy an 04 would be the last week of this comming December but you'll also have to live with what's left in the lot.
