But they didn't say "home-made" product can void warranty.

Yes, the pet screen will reduce air flow. That might cause the radiator to overheat in hot climate and stop-n-go traffic. I'll work on my "pet project" next weekend and let you guys know how I make out.

I was thinking of some kind of metal/plastic grate with rather big holes.
You can buy the aftermarket grill mesh and cut it to fit.... heck, they sell the stuff at Walmart.

I wouldn't suggest anything with very small holes as that will impede airflow... the Lexus engine seems to run hot and I'm more concerned about its cooling than mine.

I just ordered a new condenser from www.radiatorbarn.com. $175.00

I know the site sounds uhh... funny... but they have the cheapest prices that I've found.
The offer free shipping, 1 year warranty, guaranteed new.

Don't know when I'll be performing the swap, but I'll keep this thread updated.

Those Walmart chicken wires look tacky. Also the holes are too big to give good protection. Most debris are small, but at 70 mph they can do serious damage to A/C condenser.

I figured out how to protect the top portion last weekend. I cut the pet mesh screen to size, and used document clips (not paper clips) to clip the screen to the "black plastic lip" on top of the radiator. It works great, very secure, and can be easily removed. I'll monitor the temperature.

Now I need to figure out how to protect the lower portion (the big mouth under the bumper.)
