Default I'm baaaaaaak!!!

What's up all!

It's been about a year since I've hung around ClubLexus.com... been busy wasting time on DiscoWeb.org forums since I've sold my RX300 and got me a LR Discovery II.

Anyways, we still have IS300, but wife's going to start driving in snow now and looks like we might be replacing it with a new RX330. I've searched through forums a bit, but I'm too lazy to search thru ALL of them, so help me out here...

1) Who's got the record-low price they've paid for the new RX330 here? How much? (I think I've paid a record-low price for the IS300 last summer... $27K, new w/all options, AT).
2) What's the average MPG you guys get on AWD?

Ha! Funny thing is, I just took a few "provacative" pics off of there... she was getting mad

Shoot... things I could never could do in RX... but lets not go there, cuz this will turn into "FLAME Land Rover post" Besides, I'm shopping for a new RX anyway!

So... no one wants to brag about your "killer" negotiation skills???

Well, my neighbor just got a loaded 2004 RX330 for just $36,000 even. Don't remember which packages he got, but no navigation for sure. Remember this is close out price.

I have a 2002 RX300 AWD and get 22 mpg average. I got it for $851 over invoice back in Feb. 2002. Loaded with everything (including navigation and tow hitch) except chrome wheels.

Good luck with your price hunt and welcome back to Lexus.

thanks guys, hehe

I take it by the lack of responses that there haven't been too many stories about how good of "deal" many of you got? Not good The best price so far I've got was $37.6K for the 2005 AWD - I think that's about as close as it gets to the invoice? What do you think?

Anyways, T.L.W. - I love Disco truck - no comparison to RX in overall comfort, quiet ride, and interior luxuries, but they battle on different grounds. With the 4.6L V8 that went into it in '03 it's now quick (as quick as a 4700 lbs truck can be, i guess) and can tow just about anything. Even with solid axles and short wheelbase it's surprisingly smooth on the highway and while cornering. Ergonomics are nice and so is the interior space, but getting in an out of the rear seat is an art - girls with skirts have to be "manually loaded", it's truly pathetic (due to the real axle and high seating position).

My long term goal is to turn Disco into mostly off-road truck, but so far, even with 19" rims and all-terrain tires it's been amazing on trails. I can't wait for the winter season to hit High Sierra so I can test it in snow

Thinking about all of the posts in the past few months about deals on the 2004 RX330, I'd say that the best deals claim to have been about $500 - $800 over invoice without navigation, and $1000 - $1500 with it. Navigation was harder to find in 2004; they claim to be increasing the percentage of cars with it in 2005.

For reference, the difference between sticker and invoice is between $5000 and $6000. Use a web site like Edmunds or Kelley Blue Book (KBB) to get exact pricing for the car you're looking at.

Your experience will vary based on how many RX330's with the exact same options are sitting around on lots in your metro area. There are only 4 or 5 "standard" build packages in any one region, so it's pretty easy to compare inventory across dealers. (Of course, just about anything is available through a special factory order.) The more identical cars sitting around, the better your deal will be.
