New 04 Update for the NAVI
I just installed the new DVD upgrade (2004) on my RX330 2004... difficult to say if it's different in color, presentation, voice, etc... from the previous version... I fact, I can't see any difference in the format.
The main reason for me to buy this upgrade is that it now cover where I live: Quebec City; (Montreal and Hull-Ottawa where already in the old version) and a less detailed coverage for all the rest of the province (Qc).
When I try to make my way to work and back to home with this GPS Nav system, it suggest me some very strange itineraries !!! Maybe it's because that Qc City is so complicated with those small and winding streets everywhere.
Anyway, the very soft and feminine (french) voice trying to keep me "back on the "right" way" make a good entertainment in the traffic ... just have to imagine her seating next to me !!! (Hi Hi Hi)

Sask...
When I try to look at streets and road in Saskat., I can see that only some major road and streets. It a deception to see that all Canada is avalaible in the "gebuine" Navtech (with Garmin), for at last 2 years, but "Denso" (who make the Lexus nav. also from Navtech) lag far behind, in the coverage of Canada and Usa

I went to my dealer for the new 2004 Nav update (for 2002 RX300,) but the parts guy told me it's not available yet. And he said they don't even have its part number nor the price. He told me it's expected to be out by the end of month.
Anyone got the same experience? Thanks.

Toyota Material # for the 4.1 disk is 00230-DVD04-CY
3.1 is DVD03-CY
2.1 is DVD02-CY
These are only updates for the first generation of DVD Navi (maybe the wrong terminology, this update is NOT for the '04 ES/LS/LX Navi's)
'04 CY update (4.1) was released Sept 17

Part# is for any 2001-2003 Lexus DVD Navigation, as well as the 2004 GS/RX/IS/SC/GX. These updates just the maps, not the actual Nav software. (and POI and sh t)
there is as of yet no navi update for any of the new (4th) generation Navigation systems (04 ES/LS/LX and '05 Models)
To be honest i'm not certain what '05 models use the old DVD Nav system (maybe the GS/IS?)
