My RX330 was made in 05/04 - Has anyone noticed when the windows (all 4) are closed using the auto or by holding the up button, that the pressure when fully closed actually distorts the weather striping frame on the outside of the window. You can check yours by looking at the outside window weather stripping to see if it moves when you close the window all the way. When driving, a great deal of noise comes through the door where the window is. To stop the noise, just tap the open or down button to let the window drop a fraction of an inch, the noise disappears and there is still a good seal (no wind noise) around the rest of the window. Seems that the factory adjusted the window to close just slightly too tight which kicks the lower part of the window out, thereby distorting the weather stripping. I'm going to bring my RX in to the dealer and see if they can adjust the window to stop closing a fraction of a second earlier. I also have to have the A/C groaning noise (at 1100 rpm) fixed - it drives me crazy.

Default Window Noise

As a GM technician I've always noticed that when windows are rolled up until they stop it causes a real bind on the window regulator IN the door AND the weatherstripping that runs around it. Also when power windows are rolled up until they stop the outer frame of the window [ if so designed ] really distorts. The pressure put on the window motor, window regulator, and window channels SHORTEN the lives of all the parts involved. If there is any doubt, just observe the inner door panel " bow out " the next time you put the window up all the way! The secret is to run the window up just enough to close the gap at the top; I know, it's difficult and sounds stupid, but try pricing a window motor/regulator sometime.

Yes there is a FIX for the window channels replacement! I believe the channels the windows go up into are not cut deep enough allowing the window to push the seals out a little! There is a huge differance in my 330 when I just "tap" the window down a hair! Mine are getting replaced Monday...both driver and passenger side.

Here is whats needed for the repair and Yes they are update part numbers, get them to check witht the parts counter.

I found the service report for the replacement "door and glass run"

Quote-
Condition: Wind noise heard
Cause: excessive clearance glass run
Correction: Replaced door and glass run

Part # QTY 1 68141-48030 Run,glass
QTY 1 68151-48030 Run,glass
