Question RX 330: Retrofit Nax System?

Is it possible to add a factory nav system to my 2004 RX 330? Anyone know?

Thanks!

I assume the question is about Navigation system.

Any thing is possible but comes with a price. The Factory Nav retrofit might cost more than the price difference of an RX with Nav and the resale value of an one without a Nav.

I would suggest buy an after market nav which may be more powerful/upgradeable/flexible and less expensive as well.

Post Retrofit Nav? Not cheaply!

Salim has a good suggestion there . . . an aftermarket Nav works pretty well and at least has the advantage of being portable to your next car.

I believe the second most cost-effective solution is trade. Installing the Lexus Nav system would be a huge job - because it consists of several interrelated components - antenna, computer, speed sensor, fluxgate compass, interlocks, touchscreen and controls - the electronic equivalent of swapping a C-7 Cat engine into your RX. It can be done - and has been done - but I wouldn't want to try it.

Retro-fitting the NAV system is a question that comes up on the Honda Pilot board. The parts alone are over $3500 for the Pilot's system. Given the premium Toyota charges for Lexus parts, I think trade-in or aftermarket are the only reasonable solutions, and aftermarket is the only reasonably priced solution.

Agree with trade-in or aftermarket are the best solutions.

I was agonizing about whether to get NAV or not when I bought my Lexus. I am glad that I chose to have the NAV. Also like the wood steering wheel and HID that are bundled with NAV.
